Return to Table of Contents Sutter Creek Inn At the start of, and throughout the boom of California's Gold Rush, in Sutter Creek, the Sutter Creek in has stood. While John Sutter and other prospectors brought in the mother lode, the Inn was always busy, and remains so today. Sutter Creek is located between Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. And, while the town would rather have you visit for the quaintness and historical factor, the inn is widely known for it regular hauntings. California State Senator Edward Voorhies lived, with his family, in the house in the 1880s, more than 100 years ago and he has been haunting it ever since. Apparently Voorhies and his wife materialize on a somewhat frequent basis. The daughters of the senator have reportedly materialized in front of guests as well. I do not know if it is coincidence or by plan, but the slasher from the Friday the 13th movies who has been terrorizing movie goers for decades shares the same last name -- Voorhies. |
